"My son and I went on the 3 day, 2 night Black Canyon backpacking trip. I love hiking but wasn't sure how I'd feel about sleeping in the backcountry. "This was my 3rd guided backpacking trip in three years but my first trip with Trail Guides Yellowstone. That being said, I had certain minimum expectations of Trail Guides Yellowstone. Those expectations were met and exceeded! The website is spectacular and is a great place to start when you begin your planning. But of course real communication with your guide is what really puts your mind at rest before the trip. You want to make sure you and your guide are on "the same page". And that is exactly how Brian runs it. I communicated with him numerous times before the trip regarding everything from flying in to Bozeman, to discussing the part of the park we were going to be in (we did the 4-day Black Canyon of the Yellowstone), to equipment recommendations. Responses by e-mail were prompt and we spoke on the phone several times as well. His focus is really on creating the experience you are looking for. I learn from my guides each time I go out and this time was no different. Brian is knowledgeable about the park, the wildlife, and how to create a safe and memorable experience in the backcountry. I highly recommend Trail Guides Yellowstone if you are heading to Yellowstone!"

"The guided hike to Observation Peak was the exact experience I was looking for as a first-time Yellowstone visitor! Brian is an amazing guide! Knowledgeable, courteous, accommodating and fun, everything you could ask for in a trail guide. He put our safety and comfort first as we trekked through bear country and slowly wound our way around mountains. All of our gear, such as packs, water, food and bear spray (yes, bear spray), was ready to go as soon as we arrived. Throughout the hike, we stopped and rested as needed, as Brian encouraged us to go at a comfortable pace. He pointed out several animals before anyone else spotted them, and he was also familiar with many species of plants, in addition to the overall biology of the park. It is evident that he has a passion for the park as well as an interest in educating visitors. I would definitely recommend Trail Guides Yellowstone!"
